Audi Makes Dreams Come Alive

When you were a kid, did you think your toys were real? They had personalities of their own, and then you played with them, they came to life.

Audi is taking that dream, and making it real in their new short film.

The title of this short is "Reality? Check." It seems appropriate given the reality-bending nature of the film.

To be clear, none of this was shot on a miniature set, and it wasn't computer generated imaging. The director used a filming technique called "tilt shift."

Now, we're not film majors, we don't know exactly how…

Impossible Real Stunts with BMW and Tom Cruise

When you went to Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation this summer, were you not mesmerized by the special effects? The driving scenes were edge-of-your-seat stuff-- and there were plenty of them. Usually in speedy BMWs.

What made those scenes so great was that there were no special effects.

Tom Cruise was actually driving at break-neck speeds, sliding a BMW around the narrow corridors of Casa Blanca.

In a world where CGI is taking over everything, some film makers have to stand up and say, "We're going to do this for real." It makes the movie more immersive, more breathtaking…

Which Is Better: Rear-Wheel Drive or Front-Wheel Drive?

If you're a sports car enthusiast, you probably live for rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicles. Then again, if you're just looking to get to work comfortable and conveniently, you probably prefer front-wheel drive (FWD) vehicles.

What's the big difference between them?

Most BMW models are have a rear-wheel drivetrain. It makes sense for them.

BMW is a sporty luxury brand, and RWD fits that image to a T. Having powered wheels in back, and an engine up front means a RWD vehicle has a better front-to-rear weight balance for more precision handling. Then, there's the physics of…

Are You Crazy For Seeing Emotions in Cars?

Look at that Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It's regal, and a little bit grumpy, as if to tell other cars on the road to get out of its way, because its passengers are the most important. The BMW 3 Series has a similar appearance of noble severity-- like a professor or businessman who holds himself with poise, but will eviscerate you with wit if challenged.

Is it crazy to see emotions and personalities like these in a car?

Actually, if you do this, it likely means you're a car expert.

Thanks to a phenomenon called Pareidolia-- false pattern recognition-- most…

Is it Time to Rotate Your Tires?

Mark from Chevrolet explains why tire rotation is so important. Though you would think all of your tire treads would wear down at the same rate, they actually wear faster in certain places.

Generally, the wheels receiving power wear out faster-- particularly if you like to peel out, making tire squeal and smoke. Even if you drive conservatively, however, uneven wear is a natural fact of tire aging. On a front-wheel drive vehicle, your front tires will wear faster. The reverse goes for a rear-wheel drive vehicle, like many of our German brands favor, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Distracted Driver vs Drunk Driver

Mythbusters is always taking on big rumors and misconceptions, and when they aren't busy making things explode, they can actually go a long way toward promoting safety.

One safety myth, started by a University of Utah study in 2006, is that talking on a cell phone impairs a driver as much as being drunk.

Any myth that involves getting drunk always tops the Mythbuster's list. It's not irresponsible drinking... it's for science.

Can the Volkswagen Beetle Dominate Rallycross?

Can the Volkswagen Beetle Dominate Rallycross? Global RallyCross is slightly less global than it sounds. All races take place within the United States-- although it is sponsored by Austrian company, Red Bull, and features international teams. The cars in rallycross must be tough as nails, but apart from the already racing-reading Subaru WRX STI, some of the names might surprise you. The most popular entrant is the Ford Fiesta ST-- heavily modified, of course. The Chevy Sonic and Hyundai Veloste
